50BC #12 – Untamed by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Title: Untamed
Authors: P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
Series: The House of Night
Published: 2008
Summary: Things are getting scarier for Zoey, but she’s gotten her friends back and Nyx is still on her side.

I’m so hooked on this series! It’s practically an obsession and this book definitely is keeping me at obsession level. Things are getting really intense, both in the vampyre/pagan sense and the relationship sense.

Zoey’s got her posse back and Erik has come back, too. I really hope that if they don’t get back together, they at least get things on friendlier terms. Gotta say though, I still think Erik is a jerk and don’t want Zoey to get back together with him.

I was also totally right about Neferet; from book one she’s just been giving me this bad vibe and that feeling finally comes to fruition in this book. I cannot wait to read more about this. I need book five RIGHT NOW. I wish I still had a book budget.

50BC #11 – Chosen by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Title: Chosen
Authors: P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
Series: House of Night
Published: 2008
Summary: Zoey has hard trials in this novel, gets her best friend back, but loses everyone else important to her.

Okay, wow. This book was really awkward. The whole affair between Zoey and Loren was really not what I wanted to read, ha ha. It didn’t break my heart or anything; more like it made me want to toss my cookies. I’m not into that kind of romance, so I really wanted to skim through those parts, but I held on and read it all because I knew it would be important.

It sure was. Everything has turned to crud for Zoey. She’s being put through so many trials and while she’s succeeding, she’s also leaving herself vulnerable to all the outside sources. I really hope she gets better at guarding herself as the series progresses because I would hate for that to be her downfall.

I also really hope that more good things happen in regards to Stevie Rae; I don’t know how to feel about Aphrodite, though. I feel bad for her that she had to become human again, but if that’s how Nyx makes her repent… then I can’t really feel too sorry for her.

I was lucky enough to e-meet Emma McLaughlin on Twitter and received two copies of The Nanny Diaries from her! So exciting! Anyway, I visited my mother’s work today to watch her catalog the book and stick it on the shelf! We tried so many different spots in the library until we finally settled on putting it right next to My Booky Wook by Russell Brand!

The library has been rearranged quite a lot, especially the Young Adult section! There’s a game lounge there now with XBox 360, PS3, and Wii! (My partner played Mass Effect while I was taking all these pictures, ha ha.)

Anyway, I’ve posted the pictures to flickr, please take a look. 🙂

50BC #10 – Betrayed by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Title: Betrayed
Author: P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
Series: House of Night
Published: 2007
Summary: Book two of the series brings sadness and heartache to Zoey and her circle of friends, but they all must remain strong and vigilant.

This book made me so sad. I cried buckets of tears, I swear. I also really disliked P.C. & Kristin Cast for at least an hour after finishing this book. I can’t wait to read the next book because this broke my heart so much.

It wasn’t just the character death that killed me. This book definitely lived up to its title. The name of the game was betrayal and that game sure got played. I cannot wait to see how this affects Zoey’s time at the House of Night now; and I also wonder how it will affect her friends.

The change in character dynamics will definitely be something to note as the series goes on.
