50BC #26 – Burned by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Title: Burned
Authors: P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
Series: House of Night
Published: 2010
Summary: Everything has fallen into chaos and shattered into pieces.

I used to be really into this series, but after book 5 I just lost interest though I continued reading. This book did not renew my interest; it just confirmed my waning interest in the series because the drama was the same and things didn’t really progress. Also, the whole “The End… for Now” at the end of the books is getting well annoying.

50BC #25 – Goth Girl Rising by Barry Lyga

Title: Goth Girl Rising
Author: Barry Lyga
Published: 2009
Reviewer’s Note: 1) This is the sequel to The Astonishing Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl. 2) I may get almost NSFW in this review because I hate Kyra Sellers.
Summary: Kyra is back from the loony bin and she’s out for revenge.

Kyra Sellers has annoyed me to no end since Fanboy & Goth Girl. Nothing she could do could change my mind about me wanting to punch her in the face. And I’m certain the question you’d like to ask me is, “Why keep reading?” Well, I wanted to see if she would “get it”. My main problem with Kyra is that she doesn’t realise how much of a bitch she is to everyone and then doesn’t get why people can be so shitty to her, as if she’s done NOTHING wrong.

I really don’t think Kyra got it. Sure, she realised what was going on but I still don’t think she realised how much her “demise” was her OWN fault. And poor Fanboy. He still chooses her and still has feelings for her. I’ll treat you better, Fanboy. Come be my friend.

50BC #24 – Warriors (Original Series): Into the Wild by Erin Hunter

Title: Into the Wild
Author: Erin Hunter
Series: Warriors (Original Series)
Published: 2003
Summary: Rusty is an adventurous kittypet who wanders into Thunderclan territory, but he may just be the warrior they need.

I’d been avoiding reading this series because I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not and it’s SO HUGE. There’s this series of books, two others, super editions, and manga. So much reading! 😀 I finally decided to take the plunge and I’m really loving this series. I’m so hooked; it’s definitely well-written for 1) a series written by multiple people and 2) junior fiction. It was actually recommended to me by a fellow college student last year, so that possibly says something about the relatableness of the series?

Also, I love cats. I truly love cats. I’m highly allergic, so fictional cats are the only ones that don’t make me sick. 😦 My favourite cats so far are Bluestar, Yellowfang, and Fireheart. Book two needs to come in for me soon so I can read it! I already have book three at home (picked it up at work) and I’m not skipping ahead!
